Transportsti Tvedestrand til Arendal

Description

The track shows a good opportunity for transportation between Grenstøl in Tvedestrand and to Store Ribbervann (Tungvekteren) in Arendal on foot. The track follows fun and in some places a bit technical paths that are connected with everything from cart paths to relatively good forest roads with gravel. In a few places short transportation on asphalt.

Mainly easy trail but some challenges in some places.

This trail is temporarily restricted in use, so it can almost seem overgrown (July 2022), but it is still easy to follow and find your way.

But be careful; in a couple of places there are wooden bridges that are inconvenient in an otherwise fun descent.

Right after Åbelviktjern, the track passes through an outback pasture, so pay attention to any animals that may be there.

After passing the Haugereid lane, the track enters an area where a good number of new paths and roads have been established. Here there are plenty of options to choose from. The same is true when you enter the area for the Heavyweight.

The track can be driven in either direction, but the direction shown is experienced as the most fun.

Access

From E18, turn off for Tvedstrand at Grenstøl.

There are good parking options in the area.
