Monte Rossi Trail (No. 573c)
Description
The upper part of the Monte Rossi Trail is a newly built singletrail for both hikers and mountainbikers. The trail has a moderate difficulty level and is mostly very flowy and offers some nice views over the bay of Levanto. There are two to three steep parts (S2) but mostly its quite mellow terrain with natural berms and turns and the trail is also rather wide.
When you reach the houses of Sopramare the second part of the trail begins. The trail gets more narrow and often runs in some kind of gullies but is very fast and flowy. Some small steps and turns may challenge unexperienced riders. The trail ends at the beautiful ruins of the medieval castle of Levanto which is definetly worth a visit.
Access
Take the main Road going from Levanto to the Cinque Terre Villages. After a couple of kilometers you will reach the Colla di Gritta. From here on you take the singletrail to Monte Rossi/Monte Negro. Some Parts can be ridden but some parts are walking/pushing only. Enjoy the views on the way up!
