Description

Nice summit hike with many meters of trail above the tree line close to Tynset's highest mountain, Tron. The trip is great to combine with stilek on the floating trails on Ripan. Follow the road up to the highest elevations, the path leaves just before Brottvangen. Starts as a tractor track right outside the seat soil, somewhat wet/muddy, but you don't go many meters before you're on a path and the tractor has driven another way.

The next part of the trail is a bit rocky and a bit tricky to get some good flow. It is not long either and soon you see that it opens up when you approach the tree line, and the path becomes very nice towards the end. From the moment you get over the tree line, you have a typical mountain path for the region. Narrow but rarely deep so no problems with the pedals. The first half is very nice to ride. Gentle climb towards Vesletron (945 m) and not technically demanding.

The second half starts with the descent from Vesletron to the foot of the last climb towards Tronkalven. Here parts of the paths have been "washed out" and for most people this means that you have to jump off your bike a couple of times. Furthermore, in a couple of places the path is a bit lost in the marsh, but no longer sections. The last part is the heaviest. Here it gets a little steeper. Here, on the other hand, you come across an ATV track that runs a slightly slacker line towards the top and it is preferable to drive up. Down, on the other hand, you have to follow the path that lies a little further south.

From the top, you can drive this trail down. The first part from the top is the steepest with some technical parts, but generally good flow and high speed. Otherwise, also very nice flow and fun path from Vesletron and down towards the forest border again.

Alternatively, you can cycle down the other side towards Tylldalskjølen. See description of the red-marked path. It is quite a bit shorter, and should be worn a bit in the summer so that some wet parts can dry up a bit. It is steeper and significantly shorter. Goes mostly below the tree line, but has a very nice section first on the mountains. Here, hikers can come a little too quickly. It is this path that most walkers use, so adjust your speed if you drive this Sunday morning.

Access

Follow the seater road Tronsvangveien, toll road that leaves fv 30 just before Tron Ungdomssenter. Small parking lot by the county road. If this is full, you can park in a larger space a little further south.
