Tronkalven ned til Brottvangen (ripan)
Description
A gentler and drier path down from Tronkalven than the red-marked path down to Tylldalskjølen.
From the top, it's a fun trail with a few steeper slopes and a bit technical, but all in all a very nice mountain trail. Down the first ridge, there is a small section where the path is a little lost and you have to push a little (washed away the path), but it is short. Small climb over to the next ridge followed by a fine section down the other side. The last section down through the forest is nice at the top, before at the very end towards Setra Brottvangen it becomes a bit rocky and muddy after tractor driving - but fully cycleable.
The path is also probably the nicest to cycle up. Haven't tried up from the "throat" yet, it's probably strong but a bit steeper. Apart from the part closest to the setra, it is fine all the way.
Access
To cycle the round trip path, aim for Brottvangen. This is probably the best way up Kalven. It may be possible to try it from Strupen, but it is quite a bit steeper. Down from the top, this is long and nice, while the red-marked path down to Tylldalskjølen is steeper and shorter - but also with some wet sections, so should be taken a bit in the summer.
