Tronkalven

Description

Fresh and enjoyable descent from Tronkalven at high speed on a wide, nice mountain path from the top with a nice view to the north.

Above the forest border, a typical mountain path for Nord-Østerdalen. Relatively slack, not too much rock. In the forest, it becomes somewhat more technical, and a couple of short, steep descents that can present some challenges.

2-3 wet bog sections that never dry up, but they are relatively short.

If you take the same road up, you have to expect to push the bike all the way. Without a bike, you go up calmly in just under 30 minutes. An alternative, and more bike-friendly, is from Brottvangen, about Vesletronden to Kalven. Then you get your whole back on the bike.

Access

From Tylldalskjølen, approx. 800 meters south of the gravel roof by Trondsjøen. Gravel road up from the county road just before a pasture and high voltage line. The path starts 100 meters up the hill. Parking pockets at the start of the trail.
