Storvola
Description
Relatively easy top hike over Storvola. You come up very high via a dirt road up to the settlements in Storvollia, and only have a short section on a forest path before you reach the mountain. All the way up the mountain there is a wide path with little rough rock and a nice flow. Some steep slopes, but not a technically challenging climb, so with a good form + inside, you can easily ride up without having to push.
Super views all the way with Tronfjell towering to the west, Kommeren and Eggevola close in the same mountain area and Sølenkletten in Rendalen in the background among other things.
The tour goes up Storvoltjønna, and then in a gorge on the north side of Storstenvola, which is the largest of the peaks. Haven't tried to cycle up to the top here, but it should be manageable and could be a nice alternative round to take the top and continue the path that goes down towards Svarthammerlia.
The path in this route continues down the strongest path, and is signposted Gravsåsen from Storvoltjønna. There is never really any doubt about where you should ride as it is clearly the strongest all the way. The descent is nice, with a bit more rough rock, narrower path and somewhat steeper - but never very challenging. Also a nice trip to try out for those who haven't cycled much in the mountains and want to try out over the forest.
Should be tried!
Access
There is a lot of signage in the area and it should be easy to find your way to Storvollia. From the center of Tynset, there are many routes to take up with a bit of trail inside, but the fastest is probably asphalt up to Tylldalskjølen, take in towards Svarttjønna and then follow the path in the ski track that goes towards Langsetra, and on to the saddle road to Storvollia.
Alternatively, drive up to the parking lot at Eliasvangen and cycle from and to there, then you can try Jønnbekkvola afterwards.
