Gløttangen fjellflyt
Description
Great mountain trail with incredibly nice flow and raw views when surfing down the mountainside.
The path starts at Rødalsveien (signposted Rødalshøa) and is strong and nice all the way up, but somewhat narrow and deep for a small part before you cross the forest line. Short and gentle climbing until you get over the tree line, and then it's a great mountain path with good views all the way. Up towards the top of the ridge, you can add a detour towards the tjønna for a nice rest area or up towards Rødalshøa for several meters of altitude. Then turn right at the first crossing over the forest border. To follow this route, you just continue straight ahead at that intersection.
On top of the flat on Vesle Rødalskvolvet, the strongest path goes to the left of the summit, which is also this route. There is, on the other hand, a small bonus in taking the top with you to include the entire descent. On the way down the Gløttangen, just stand on the pedals and enjoy.
At the T-junction at the end of this track, turn left if you want to enter Rødalen again (e.g. into Finnhaugan to get up Hamndalsguva and the new beautiful mountain path down to Røsvangen mines. Then follow the signs for Jervheim and Søgardsvangen. To the right you come straight towards Røstvangen/the cabins by Stubsjøveien. From here it's nice to cycle around Sparsjøvollen to Savalen, or up the mountain again via Gløtlisetra and towards Hamndalsgruvene and Børsjøha, which can provide a round trip where it's good to come back to Rødalen via a little rough dirt road.
Access
The path is signposted Rødalshøa from Rødalsveien by Djuptjønna (just after a solitary cabin on the right).
