The trail is marked for Vestreim and goes gently up to the top for some technical trail down towards Vestreim. The path here mostly follows an old stream which can be a little wet and somewhat technical. At Vestreim follow the dirt road out of Budalen and turn left at the intersection after Budalsvatnet up to Vedalen. At the bottom of Vedalen, turn right on the underside of the cabins towards the water and follow a lovely part of the path to a gravel road. There is a part where a small stream has to be crossed and there is a risk of wet footwear. Follow the dirt road steeply downhill towards RV7 and on to Geilo. Alternatively, after about 500m on the RV7 towards Geilo, take the dirt road down to the left and cross the bridge over the river, then up a dirt road under the railway. At the intersection, follow the gravel road to the right towards Geilo. This is the Hestetråkket which is part of the Skarveritt and can be followed to Geilo.

Cycle up to Havsdalen and follow the signs/dirt road towards Prestholt. The path is clearly visible in the cabin area on the right about 500m after crossing the ski lift (Fjellheisen).

Nina Gässler rated Havsdalen til Fossastølen via Vestreim og Vedalen very good.
Antti Ollila rated Havsdalen til Fossastølen via Vestreim og Vedalen very good. Easy trail with some technical parts. Downhill to Vestreim is more difficult than medium level trail. Still driveable and not too difficult. It rained yesterday so the trail down to Vestreim was more stream than trail in most of the parts. All together nice trail and easy to bike also for beginners.20.jun.2017
