Espesetstien
Description
This is a several-hundred-year-old foot and riding road from the farms high up in Espeset down to Nesbyen. The trail is mostly of high quality and invites you to go fast. Be aware of pedestrians who may be on their way up, the path is a popular exercise walk!
The surface is mostly smooth and pleasant, but in some places loose material, larger stones and roots create a bit of a challenge (on the border of red grading in some parts). To take care of the trail, avoid locking the rear wheel!
About halfway down you cross Bringenattvegen (gravel road). Further down, the Espeset trail is quite wet in places, so it can be considered to choose one of several options further on from here (see the Trailguide map). Whichever path you choose, you will end up at the Hallingdal Museum, and easily get to the center of Nesbyen.
Access
The path begins at the end of Øygardsvegen (2 km private road that can be cycled).
