Bergtjønn
Description
ATV trail from Bergtjønn down to Årlifossveien.
New path in the upper part in the last couple of years. Further down it is a well-established path.
Somewhat technical with roots, heather and some other challenges in the first 2-300 metres. Then a mixture of grass path, children's needle path, hard-packed soil, small bogs (max. 5 metres) and old hard-packed tractor trailer with some loose stones towards the end.
The last kilometer is -17% on average, i.e. quite steeply down.
Fun trail with a lot of good flow after the first technical bit. There are also some challenges after that, but they are minor.
Can also be cycled the other way, but is then considerably heavier.
Access
Gravel road up from Årlifossveien towards Gvålåstjønna. Up to the left after Stormobrua (railway bridge).
Follow the road to the top, and take the road at the junction here. Then round the bend and down a bit before taking a right into the next grass.
Follow this gravel road to the top of Bergtjønn. The trail starts at the cabin.
After 100-150 metres, the path goes to the right (two trees marked with red ribbons). The actual path you started on continues upwards.
It can be difficult to see the start
You can also get here via paths from Tinnesmoen and Heddal
