Velteplassen - Drageskardet - Mulakamben
Description
Turn left onto the marked path, up a small hill. Follow this one. After approx. 200 m there is a path junction, here the finest cycle path (Drageskardvegen) goes to the left, but both are suitable for cycling. After 400-500 metres, you cross a bog. At the crossroads in Drageskard, the blue-marked path goes to the left towards Middagshaugen and Skard. However, you are going to the right. You now get a fun floating path down to the shelter area at Holten. From Holten there is an overgrown dirt road for 600 meters before the path turns left towards Mulakamben.
The Drageskard road was used for timber transport when the timber was sent down the Drageskardet in winter.
Mulakamben is a very nice vantage point at the end of Freviksåsen. The best view is a few hundred meters east of Mulakamben. To get to Mulakamben, the bike has to be pushed for large parts of the trip. The cycle back is sometimes a bit steep, but you can reconnoitre the whole way in.
Access
If you start from the car park at Skard, follow the asphalt road further down the other side of Fresvikåsen until you come to a toll road that goes off diagonally to the left. Turn onto this gravel road and follow it for 1.5 km until you come to a pond, locally called Velteplassen.
