Gol Autobahn

Description

Here you have 450 meters of altitude with flow and really high speed on paths and old tractor roads that have grown back to become paths. Simply release the brake, hold the steering wheel, and let yourself drift downwards.

The trail starts on a tractor road. Take the first left and follow the tractor road/path southwards along the gorge which is on your right. After a while you will come to a crossroads, on this track marked here, turn left and follow the path down. It is also possible to turn right at the intersection, you will meet further down.

After some tractor road, there is a sharp left turn with a bench set up. Immediately after this bend, you can turn right (I will describe this section as blue), or you can continue on the tractor road straight ahead (green).

Calculate approx. 1:15 to 1:30 on the whole trip.

Access

Alternative 1: Park by Herad church east of Gol center on national road 7 and walk up Liagardsvegen. When you reach the river, take a sharp left and cycle up Brenneplassvegen. After approx. After 40 minutes of pedalling, you will come to a sign with a fish on it, turn left here. When you reach the water, you are there. Calculate approx. 1 hour up.

Option 2: If you have two cars, park one at Herad church and drive up the same road as described above and park at the barrier approx. halfway up. Calculate just under 30 minutes cycling up to the path from here.
