Langhovdarunden
Description
A real happy round at Golsfjellet with Storefjell Høgfjellshotell as the starting point. Here you get a nice mountain path with some technical rock and roots and several nice and affordable descents. Start at the ski lift and cycle up the path towards Gullknapp (you will probably have to push the bike up the steepest part).
When you get to Gulknapp, follow the path towards Langhøgdi, and from there you follow it west. Take the path to the right which takes you down a nice-nice descent and over a stream. At the next signposted junction, turn left.
When you get down to the dirt road, turn right and follow it until you find a path on the left side of the road. When you come out of this turn left onto the road and the path continues to the left straight after this.
Here there will be a small climb on a path with nice hard-packed soil with some baked-in stone. Keep left at all intersections. When you get to the top, the trail changes character a bit to become narrower with some running and then a slightly wet section (but which is fantastic on bare frost). Once you've made it through the short stretch of bog, turn left at the next junction, then left at the next signposted junction.
From there, the path consists of hard-packed earth with some baked-in stone and a lot of clods. Keep straight ahead when you come to the next signposted intersection. When you get out on the dirt road again, just cycle up to the hotel.
Estimate 1 hour and 45 minutes for the entire round.
