Grand Canyon with singletrail back to Maspalomas
Description
The start is similar to what is perhaps the most common mountain bike tour on Gran Canaria. Our proposal contains a clear improvement compared to the standard tours. The trip goes in the direction of San Fernando on tarmac. From here you take the gravel road in the valley "Barranco Fataga". This starts out flat and gentle, but rises more towards the end. Then there is a wider gravel road that goes in and out of the valleys at roughly the same height all the time in a direction to the west (Ayagaures). Most people cycle down to Ayagaure's dam when they are furthest north/west on the trip and then take asphalt down. This tour proposal gives you path and cart track all the way back to the city by following the Barranco de los Vincentes.
Access
The tour starts at San Fernando. Cycle out of Playa Ingles in the direction of Fataga. It is easy to get there on paved roads. The tour ends at the sports park right near the amusement park at Maspalomas.
