Vindskjermen - Fageråsen

Description

More options for getting to the Windscreen. Suitable as a round trip, for example from Skistua or Anleggshammeren. This tour proposal starts from the car park at Fageråsen terrace.

Follow the wide prepared road up towards the "Appelsinhaugen". Just before, the road turns to rocky and more technical singletrack. Follow the path up behind the gapahuken and on towards Grotneshytta. Here, some pushing and carrying of the bicycle must be expected. Past Grotneshytta, you follow the red-marked path all the way up to the windscreen.

Downwards, the path begins easily with sections of flow and small sections of bog, before it turns into a rocky and technical path past Grotneshytta and down to the "Appelsinhaugen" again. Marking this trail as blue because of the technical part, otherwise the tour is green and blue.

The trip down is probably best with a rougher trail bike or downhill bike and protective equipment, but I have cycled down on a hardtail and it goes well with the exception of a couple of sections.

This is also one of the busiest hiking trails in the area, so it is recommended to ride it late or early to avoid the worst crowds. I haven't received much negative feedback about trail cycling in the area, but on this trail I have experienced a bad atmosphere, so follow the riding rules and be considerate!
