Ørterhøvda

Golsfjellet, Gol, Buskerud, Norway

Description

A fast mountain path that takes you down from Ørterhøvda to Appelsintreet on Golsfjellet. Here you get real enduro training by trying to keep up the speed on the relatively gentle slope (there are also a couple of uphills).

The first part from the top is quite rocky, so be careful not to puncture. After a few hundred meters on the flat beyond the mountain you come to junction 222 (I think), turn down to the right and follow the relatively open and fast path until you end up at junction 234, Appelsintreet.

Access

Drive up Golsfjellet via FV 51 from central Gol in the direction of Fagernes. Get off at the entrance to Storefjell Høgfjellshotel (NOK 40 at the barrier). Follow straight ahead towards Ørterstølen, not up towards Storefjell.

You can either pedal and push up from Bualii cottage hamlet, which you will find just after Ørterstølen, on the left. Or you can drive up towards Guriset (turn left at the junction after passing the cottage field) and cycle up the path from Appelsintreet.

Du begynner over tregrensa, men etterhvert som du kommer lengre ned blir det mer stein, røtter og litt vått her og der.
