Pila to Aosta (10)

Pila, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
5.5km|1m ◢ ◣ 1071m|10.09.2016

Description

This trail is part of the Pila bike park but worth taking on your trail bike due to the length, vertical drop, and the diversity.

It mostly takes you through the woods where trails and jumps have been built for many many years, so there are lots of features to choose from. In dry conditions, the trail is quite loose and blown out.

Access

Take the Aosta to Pila Gondola or drive up or pedal up to Pila. The trail starts at the bottom of the Chamolé chairlift.

Anders Lund rated Pila to Aosta (10) very good. The upper part start inn the upper corner off the field/meadow through the high grass. Its a blind entry. Push through the gras and you se the trail. The trail is disbandoned by the park, this is the signs, you just continue at your own risk. You can se that the locals uses this one and there is nothing unpredictable to look out for. Follow the trail until the section that is open and maintained by the park. This is a black and red combo but all black parts are forgiving, marked drops and jumps are more tabletops and step downs. "Very dry" when dry. A lot of fun!! 25.jul.2024

Eskil Nore Kveim rated Pila to Aosta (10) very good. Good conditions even though it's super dry, but the top part is closed for some reason. BUT if you ride the end of Chamolé in the opposite direction on a flat gravel road east for about 1km you can ride a nice blue trail that starts below a Chapel. Turn on Strava red heat in the overlay menu, and it's very easy to find the entry 😊 This trail you can take all the way down to Aosta, or just the top part before you enter the the bottom part of this trail like we did.13.jul.2022
